WatchItToo as a Classroom Tool and Impressions on Tools being used currently in CAT 250

  • WatchItToo is the name of the tool that I selected for use in a classroom setting.
  • Here is a link to the WatchItToo website: http://www.go2web20.net/site/?a=Watchitoo
  • WatchItToo is a website that allows up to 25 people to access the same online content and programs (ie, word document, powerpoint, etc.), while meeting live in a video conference. The leader of a WatchItToo session has the option of inviting people into the meeting as just an audience member or as an active participant, with editing permissions.
  • While this seems to mainly be geared to a business setting, this could be extremely valuable for use in school group projects. It would make meeting virtually much more efficient, as it would allow the other group members to see exactly what the other person is doing, as they are doing it.
  • Impressions on Tools being used in class: When we began this class and set up all of our accounts, I was unfamiliar with a few of them. I already had used Skype, Gmail, Google Docs, and Twitter. I realize now that I hadn't used Google Docs to its full capacity before taking this course. It has been helpful for our collaborative work to see who has added what information, and all be able to access our documents at the same time. While I haven't used all of the other tools yet, just setting the accounts up made me aware of all of the different channels that are available to store information and share information with others. This makes group work and meetings extremely efficient, productive, and convenient when you're unable to meet in person.
